The exhibition “Twelve houses” is an attempt to capture some of the ideas and thoughts that have emerged while working together in Koganecho residency. Creating with materials by hand and with found objects, the subject matter often reflects what has been around us. The final shape becomes something that weaves together these encounters and all what has unknowingly influenced us.

In the exhibition the works become twelve houses – they are constellations that draw together points of stratified time. They bring out the logic in seemingly unconnected things and events, helping us to see what is important to keep and what can be left behind.

It’s also a material journal where the entries are the works, each of them standing for a week in twelve weeks. There’s no chronological order, and therefore they can be read from whichever way. It’s important to go beyond the language, read the material, its tactility. Words only support what can be felt.
